ONEHUNGA POLICE COURT.
(Before M. J. H. Luxford, S.M.) GATHERING MUSHROOMS. Three small boys went into a paddock in Mount Smart Road, Onehunga, on May 15, to gather mushrooms, when the landlord sent a youth to tell them to cease chasing his cows. In doing this, i the youth laid his hands on some of them when they fell down. For this he was brought before the Court and 1 charged with assaulting them, under the Child's Welfare Act. After hearing the evidence, the magistrate admonished the boy and discharged him. BREACH OF DEFENCE ACT. Reginald F. Moorhouse was fined 20/ and 12/ costs for failing to notify a change of address to the Defence Department. BY-LAW BREACHES. Ronald Empson and Victor H. Smith were ordered to pay 10/ costs each for leaving their motor cars at night without a light at Onehunga. For riding a bicycle at night without a light, W. Keon was convicted and discharged. BREACH OF AWARD. C. R. La Roache pleaded guilty to a breach of the Grocers' Award by exceeding the proportion of juniors to seniors in his employment. He was lined 20/ and costs. Mr. C. B. Rawlings, inspector of awards, prosecuted.
