PRESENTATIONS.
Presentations were made on Saturday at the Newmarket Police Station to Constables C. W. Powell and A. White, who are on transfer on promotion to tlie Thames and Pukekolie districts respectively. Sergeant Rock congratulated Tjoth officers on their promotion, and said that the staff' was pleased to see that t lie Department had recognised their worth, (.'unstable Powell was presented witn a case of pipes and Constable White with a gold-mounted fountain pen.
A farewell social was tendered at Corouiandel last Friday evening To Sergeant E. Burnett and Mrs. Burnett. Sergeant Burnett, who lias had charge of
the Coromamlel station for three yearr, was presented with a cheque by Mr. J. W. Barker on behalf of the district.
