LAD WHO STOLE • CIGARETTES. "It, was quito a. needless offence, as ho had plenty of pocket money," said counsel in the Children's Court to-dav, when appearing for a boy of 10 who stole cigarettes arid money from a tobacconist's store during the Easier holidays. It was tho first time the lad had been in trouble. "You have everything in your favour," said Mr. E. Cuttcn, S.M., addressing tho boy. What made you do this?" x No answer. It was stated that the lad stole SO/ in money and packets of cigarettes valued at €1 17/0. Mr. Cutten admonished the lad, and made an order for restitution.
