CHARGE AGAINST AUDITOR

A bitter two days' debate in the Assembly arose out of the auditorgenera l's action in surcharging the Minister of Posts with £231 for the ttso of a motor for his private purposes, which payment tho Prime Minister, Uneral ITertzog, subsequently condoned.
General Smuts, Leader of the Opposition, to-day regarded an allegation against the auditor as of the gravest, tin (I demanded a judicial inquiry.
The Prime Minister offered to set up iv committee of Parliament to inquire, und the Opposition accepted. i
