THE FOLLOWING ADVERTISEMENT WILL SET FORTH REASONS FOR BELIEF IN MAN'S IMMORTALITY FOR THE DEMONSTRATION OF WHICH FROM THE BIBLE, THE HONORARY SECRETARY OF THE INTERNATIONAL BIBLE STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION HAS OFFERED £500 Matt. 25:46 reads:— " And these shall go away into EVERLASTING (aionios) punishment, but the righteops into LIFE ETERNAL (aionios)." Thus, if there is immortality for the righteous, there is also immortality for the wicked. The punishment is just as EVERLASTING as the life. Luke 20:38 reads :— " For He is not a God of the dead, but of the living, FOR ALL LIVE UNTO HIM." That is, all are immortal, but as shown above only the righteous have everlasting life. Life being used in the sense of blessedness. EXPLANATION. MAN CANNOT DIE. " Man is so created . that as to his internal he cannot die; for he can believe in God, and also leve God, and thus be conjoined with God by faith and love; and to be conjoined with God is to live forever." " ALL live unto Him." (Luke 20:38.) " Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was; and the SPIRIT shall return unto God who guvc- it." (Eccles. 12:7.) WHAT IT IS IN MAN THAT LJVES. " Everyone who weighs the subject aright may know that the body does not think, because it is material; but the SOUL, because it is spiritual. The aoul of man iB his spirit. It is the spirit which thinks in the body, for it is spiritual; and the spiritual receives what is spiritual, and lives spiritually, which is to think and to will. All rational life, therefore, which appears in the body, belongs to the spirit, and nothing of it to the body; for the body is. material. " Since everything which lives in the body, and from life acts and feels, is solely of the spirit, and not of the body, it follows that the spirit is the real man; or what is the same thing, that man, viewed in himself, is a spirit, and also in like form; for whatever lives and feels in man id of his spirit, and everything in man, from .the head to the soles of his feet, lives and feels. Conjunction with the Lord is by means of them. And because by means of these two faculties there is conjunction of the Lord with every man, EVIL AS WELL AS GOOD, therefore, every man has immortality. But that man- only has ETERNAL LIFE, that is, the life of heaven, in whom there is a reciprocal conjuuction from inmost to outmost things in him."
