SCHELDEPAS ARRIVED.
NORFOLK DUE MIDNIGHT.
A strong easterly gale has been blowing from the Gulf this morning, although without bringing enough rain to interfere seriously with cargo work. The Scheldepas, which arrived last evening with basic slag from Antwerp, was to berth this morning at the Central wharf, but she will have to remain in the stream until the weather moderates.
The Canadian Transporter arrived yesterday afternoon from Wellington for final loading, and is to sail this afternoon for New York, Boston and Montreal.

The Waimea left Napier at 6 p.m. yesterday for Auckland. She is due here tomorrow, berthing at the Queen's wharf. The lvurow left Gisborne at 11 p.m. yesterday and expects to arrive at 7 a.m. tomorrow. She is to berth at the Prince's whnrf. After discharge, she is to go to Westport, Dunedin and Bluff, taking cargo for Westport and Bluff. The Wingatui left Picton at 0.30 a.m. to-day- for Wellington, and is expected to clear the latter port at 6 p.m. to-day for Auckland. After discharge she is to sail about Thursday next for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Kaitangata is to leave Greymouth at 4 p.m. to-day for Auckland. She is to sail for New York this afternoon. The Union Company's steamer Kawatirl sailed last night for Newcastle. Adelaide, Edithburg and Melbourne to load for New Plymouth, Portland, Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. Due at Auckland from Lyttelton to-mor-row, the Union Co.'s steamer Wakoualti is to berth at the Prince's wharf. On completion of discharge she is to go to Opua to load timber for Sydney via Newcastle. For further loading for London, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Auckland is to sail this afternoon for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne and Wellington. She is to sail finally from the lttter port on June 7. To complete discharge of her general cr go from New York, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Curtis is to sail this afternoon for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. It is reported that the steamer Saltersgate (ex Overstone), belonging to the Turn- ' bull, Scott Shipping Company, has been I chartered to load nitrates at Chilean ports for Auckland. An arrival at Auckland last evening was the Belgian steamer Scheldepas with basic slag from Antwerp. At present she is in the stream, being unable to go to her allotted berth at the Central wharf until the weather moderates. From Auckland she is to go to Wellington to complete discharge. (N.Z. Shipping Co., agents.). KAIKORAI SAILED. The Union Company's steamer Kaikora) was recommissioned yesterday, and sailed last evening for Westport, under the command of Captain F. J. Biltun, formerly master of. the Kartigi. He has with him the following officers: ilr. C. W. Godfrey, chief; Mr. T. P. Evans, second; and Mr. J. V. Broadhouse, third. YOSERIC WITH PHOSPHATE. To the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd., the Weir Line steamer Yoseric is expected to arrive at Auckland on Monday next, with a full cargo of phosphate from Ocean Island. NIAGARA AT VANCOUVER. Cabled advice from Vancouver states that the Union Co.'s R.M.s. Niagara, with passengers, mails and cargo from Sydney and Auckland, arrived there at 4 a.m. yesterday. She is to leave there again on her return voyage on Wednesday nest, and is due at Auckland on June 18. NORFOLK DUE TO-NIGHT. From Liverpool via Neirfolk (Virginia), 1 the Federal steamer Norfolk expects to arrive at Auckland at midnight to-night. She is to berth to-morrow morning at the Queen's wharf to discharge the local portion of her general cargo. The balance is for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. WEST CARMONA ARRIVED. With lumber, case oil and general cargo from Pacific Coast ports, the American-Australian-Orient Line steamer West Carmona arrived at Auckland this afternoon and berthed at the Prince's wharf. Her other ports of discharge are Wellington and Dunedin, whence she is to sail for San Francisco about June 11. MATAKANA TO LOAD. To continue Homeward loading, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matakana left Dunedin at 7.30 a.m. to-day for Auckland. From here she is to go to Gisborne, Waikokopu, Napier and Wellington to fill up, sailing finally from the latter port on June 20 for Monte Video, London and West of England ports. (L. D. Taking passengers, mails and cargo for Sydney, the Union Co.'s steamers Marama and Maunganui sailed yesterday afternoon from Auckland and Wellington respectively. Both vessels are due at Sydney on Tuesday next and will leave there again the following Friday, the Maunganui for Auckland and the Marama for Wellington. They are due at their respective ports on June 5. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. THAMES RIVER IMPROVEMENTS. In continuation of the Thames Harbour improving scheme, a three-quarter and a half-tide basin-wall composed of stones and boulders, running westerly from the southern end of the existing full-tide wall towards the black and white surmount beacon and thence eastward for 1500 ft, is now under construction, says a "Gazette", notice. As this basin-wall will be covered at high water, the passage of vessels south of Burke Street wharf, and eastward of a line drawn between the black surmount entrance beacon and the white surmount sewer beacon, is prohibited. RICHARDSON STEAMERS. Messrs. Watkin and'Wallis advise that the Richardson steamer Mako was due at Portland last night, and is expected at Auckland to-night.. The vessel will berth at Central wharf, and at two o'clock on Monday afternoon she is to be dispatched for East Coast bays, Napier, and Wairoa. The Awaliou is due from the coast tomorrow night, and will also berth at Central wharf. She is to sail for Hicks Bay. Tokomaru Bay. and Gisborne at 5 o'clock on Tuesday evening. The company's new steamer Pukeko is to go into dock on Monday morning to have her hull cleaned and painted. On Tuesday night she is to be dispatched for Napier and Picton. , The Putiki is at Central wharf continuing ] her overhaul, which will be completed next week.
