MUSICAL COMEDY SUCCESS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correapondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Waiata Society last evening concluded a four-nighta' season of "The Arcadiana" in the presence of a large audience. The season has been a distinct artistic success, and the production of the musical comedy was of a very high order. Both the staging and the dressing won the admiration of all who had seen professional performances, while the principals were exceptionally good. This effort is regarded as one of the made by the Waiata Society*. Mad&me Frances Foote, Messrs. James Jackson, Jas. 0. Donaldson and W. H: Yarrow 'have been nominated candidates for the Whangarei Borough Council byelection, rendered necessary by the resignation of Mr. A. D. Jack to take up his appointment as town clerk.
