LOANS BOARD RESTRICTIONS
The approval of the Local Bodies Loans Board of loan proposals aggregating £8950 was notified to the Birkenhead Borough Council last etening. Separate sanction of each issue had been given, though no objection would be offered to the whole being raised a< one loan. The three proposals are £3250 for acquiring a recreation ground at Birkdale and constructing a swimming pool at the Birkenhead wharf; £470 for constructing boat lockers, staging and skid in the vicinity of the proposed baths; and £5230 for water supply reticulation extensions. The board/ however, declined to sanction the sum of £1050, of which £712 was for payment of interest and sinking fund for the first year, and £338 for the development of the recreation ground. With regard to the latter amount, the board considered that at the present -tautexpenditure of loan money or. the development of . a park in the sugge-nd Ic-aiity ua- nui justified. A
