World Protection Of Bird Life. GENEVA RECOMMENDATIONS. ("Times" Cables.) (Received 12 noon.) GENEVA, May 24. The International Bird Preservation Conference has successfully concluded. It protestc . against killing birds solely for their millinery value, and resolved to recommend a complete cessation of bird hunting during the mating and rearing periods, and tlie use of repeating shotguns for shooting wild fowl from motor boats.
The conference strongly disapproved of commerce in wild birds anc egg shells, and recommended an international convention compelling the cessation of all shooting, trapping, and other methods of destruction, the sale or exposure for sale in countries of the Southern Hemisphere, from August 1 until the autumn shooting season.
