AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET.

TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE

A good number of sales were put through yesterday afternoon and again this morning, the business being distributed over various lines. Commercial Bank shares sold at the third call yesterday at £1 9/5, and New Zealands at £3 0/3. English and Scottish Bank shares were also placed at £8 8/9. To-day buyers of Bank of Australasia advanced their offers to £14 7/6, but no seller quoted. National Bank of New Zealand firmed a little to-day, buyers offering £7 4/. A slight advance also took place in National Bank of Australasia shares, buyers offering £18 5/ for the ordinary and £9 2/ for the contributing issues. Bank of New South Wales are still wanted at £48 2/6, and Union Bank of Australia could be placed at £14 17/.

New Zealand Insurance shares sold at £2 2/ at the third call yesterday, and the same figure was again offered at the noon call to-day. Sales were made of South British Insurance yesterday afternoon and at both calls to-day at £3 1/. Preference issue of Electrolytic Zinc had business yesterday afternoon at £1 12/9, and Mount Lyells changed hands at £1 13/. An extra threepence was offered for Mount Lyells to-day.

Auckland Gas, 6*6 debentures, maturing in 1935, changed hands yesterday afternoon at £102 10/, and are still wanted at £102. The Auckland Gas Co.'s shares sold this morning at £1 3/7. Further business was done in Hikurangi Coal ordinary shares at 4/6, and yesterday afternoon 7/6 was paid for the A preference issue. Kempthorne, Prosser Drug shares again sold at £3 9/9 and Goldsbrough, Mort shares firmed to sales at £2 11/9. A sale was reported of N.Z. Breweries at £2 2/2. N.Z. Farmers' Fertiliser shares eased I again to-day, being offered at £4 12/, with no buyers quoting. BUSINESS DONE. AT THE 3.15 P.M.
