Colossal Damage In Four Days. DEVASTATED BULGARIA. (Australian P*ess Assn.—United Service.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 8. In the House of Commons, the Home Secretary, Sir Wm. Joyneon-Hic'.s, announced that in the Bulgarian earthquakes from April 14 to 18 17,102 houses were entirely and 19,579 partly destroyed; 255,400 of 515,617 inhabitants of devastated towns and villages were Without shelter. THREE PER CENT. . WORKLESS IN N.S.W. (Kccelved 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Mr. T. R. Bavin, Prime Minister, announces that the Government is provid»ig £1,000,000 for work for unemployed, who are estimated to total 14,000, or three per cent of the total wage earners 'n New South Wales.
