TRACKWORK FOR WINTER MEETINGS. EENZORA IN LIMELIGHT. POLYPHEMUS JUMPING WELL. (By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") WANGANUI, Tuesday. Comical will be ridden in the Eginont Steeplechase by the stable horseman, G. Taggart. F. Tilley intends bringing a team of five horses to Wanganui to-morrow, including Limited, Shining Armour and Glenross. Silvermine, by himself, galloped five furlongs at Hawera yesterday in 1.3. Barryanda finished in front of Eka and Orcades at the end of six furlongs in 1.14 2-5. Partaga and Bonogne were associated .n a spin over five furlongs. The former ■ iad a bit the better of the jump-off, and linislied a neck in front in 1.3 3-."i. Bisox has been doing good work since Uie tracks became easier, and she beat Mendip over six furlongs in LIS 2-5, after running the first half in 51 l-ss. in great fettle for the Egmont meeting this week. He cut out half a mile yesterday in 50 4-ss. Royal Mint and Captain Gazeley were companions in a four furlongs flutter at Hawera yesterday, finishing together in 535. Polyphemus has been showing most promising form over big fences at Hawera. In company with San Fera and Waitaunalia he gave a splendid display of jumping yesterday. Airtight and Euchre both shaped well in a round over schooling hurdles, while Glengariff, and Wliisogne gave improved displays. Ngata has made very satisfactory progress since racing at Awapuni, and promises to be very hard to beat in the Tongalioe Hurdles at Hawera. At Marton yesterday he, with Kilburn as companion, gave a good display over six hurdles. Brigadier Bill has been doing well enough in his schooling lessons over big fences at Marton to ensure solid support in the Egmont Steeplechase. At Marton yesterday he had Ruby Ring as companion over a round of steeplechase fences, and both fenced well. Alaric was put over three fences at Marton yesterday, jumping in great style. He subsequently went a round on the flat in company with Mount Marta and Nucleus. The last named finished in front, but was sore when pulled up. Bonny Rill, Banjuke and Risk were sent over the steeplechase fences, giving a good display of clean, fast jumping. Banjuke and Alaric will be ridden in their Hawera engagements by H. McSweeney. On the Wanganui track this morning Whito Ringlet went live furlongs, by herself, in 1.5. Curtain, with a companion, slipped over three furlongs in 395. Covent Garden finished a couple of lengths in front of Just So at the end of live furlongs in 1.5. The first quarter was cut out in 24As. Royal Elm went a mile, by himself, in 1.45. He looks well. King Mart was sent six furlongs, which occupied 1.25. This gelding has been paid up for at Hawera. but is not likely to start at the meeting.
