MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
The Tuesday niglit concerts given for the seamen from ships in port visiting the Missions to Seamen Institute, Emily Place, are very popular and the artists receive a warm welcome. Last evening's programme was arranged by Mrs. H. J. Newbury, who was assisted by the home orchestra nndor the baton of Mr. Whitehouse. Mr. W. E. Connolly (songs), Mr. R. Oliver (violin solos), Messrs. Kendall and Lewis (vocal duets), H. Cocker (piccolo solos), nd Misses Kendall (pianoforte duets). Mrs. Newbury was the accompanist. Chaplain H. K. Viekery was chairman. A series of socials for the sailor visitors has been arranged by the Ladies' Harbour Lights Guild and the girls' branch of the Navy League. The committee of the Harbour Lights Guild lias arranged a sale of work, to be held at Bishopscourt library to-morrow (Thursday) afternoon in aid of the funds of the Missions to Seamen. It will be open to all interested free of charge. Toe H will in future have the Auckland Group headquarters in the Missions to Seamen buildings. The members are taking an active part in the work of the Seamen's Institute.
