COUNCIL ADOPTS PLAN.

WHANG AREI, this day.
A special meeting of the Whangarei Borough Council was held to consider a report furnished by Messrs. Gannon and Worley, of Auckland, on the sewerage system of the borough. The Mayor formally moved for the reception of the report and the accompanying plan. The plan depicted a 24ineh main from a proposed septic tank afc Hoeys to Railway Road, laid to a grade of one in 1200; a 21-inch main from Railway Road to Dent Street, on a similar grade; from Dent Street to Deveron Road, an 18-inch main, on a grade of one in 800; from Deveron Road to Mill and Kamo Roads, a 12-inch main, on a grade of one in 800. The main from the proposed septie tank to the outlet was shown a« 21 inches in diameter. An extension of the 9-incli main from Kamo Road to Luptons Avenue was also shown. i
The Mayor moved the adoption of the report and the plan, and that a loan of approximately £30,000 be submitted to the ratepayers. The motion was seconded by Cr. Tibbits, and carried. The following lateral extensions, to connect up with the main sewers, were then agreed to:—King Street, Mill Road, Brighton Road, Mair Avenue, Hatea Street, Princes Street, Church Street to Whau Valley Bchool through Dinniss Avenue, and taking in Park Avenue, Oranga Road, Zealandia Street, Percy Street, Stanley Street, Mercer Street, Wallace Street, Bernard Street, West End Avenue, Ansae Avenue (lower and upper), and McDonalds Road.
