En route from Auckland to London, the Federal steamer Cambridge is reported to have arrived at Panama on Tuesday last. She left here on March 31. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. . The following vessels are expected to be within range of the Auckland wireless statlon to-night: Tofua, Niagara, kura, H.M.s. Laburnum. H.M.s. Veronica Port Albany, Canadian Scottish, Walhemo! PORT CURTIS REPORTED. Bringing general cargo from New York for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lvttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, the Commonwealth and Dominion liner cleared Norfolk Virginia, on Tuesday last, according 'to a cabled report. She Is due here on May 21. HINEMOA IN PORT. From Niue, the Government steamer Hinemoa arrived at Auckland yesterdav morning and berthed at the King's wharf to discharge Island produce. She is announced to sail again on Saturday with passengers, mails and cargo, for Norfolk Island. (Spedding, Ltd., Agents.) WARSHIPS' MOVEMENTS. The warships Veronica and Laburnum left Gisborne and Napier respectively on Tuesday for Auckland. Yesterday H.Ms Wakakura left Auckland with a target in tow to -meet the two vessels in the gulf for gunnery exercises. All three vessels will come into port to-morrow. SULPHUR FROM TEXAS. It Is announced that arrangements have been made for a Weir Line steamer to load sulphur at Galveston. Texas, towards the end of June or the beginning of July for three New Zealand ports. NEW MOTOR SHIP CHARTERED. A new Norwegian motorshlp, the Fernlane, has been chartered to make her maiden voyage to Australia or New Zealand, with case oil from the Gulf of Mexico. She is a vessel of 5310 tons gross, and was launched at Copenhagen on September 17, 1927. Her fawners are Fearnley and Ezer. of Oslo. THE PORT DUNEDIN. Due at Dunedin on May 11', the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Donedin, has general cargo from London for discharge at Dunedin, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. NEW INTERCOLONIAL STEAMER. A charter has been arranged for the steamer Inkum (4504 tons) owned by the Gulf Transport Co., Liverpool, for 12 months in the intercolonial tr&de. GABRIELLA ARRIVED. With a cargo of coal and hardwood from Newcastle and Port Stephens, the steamer Gabriella arrived at Auckland thia morning and berthed at the King's wharf. MARAMA SAILS TO-MORROW. Taking passengers, mails and cargo for Sydney, the Union Co.'s steamer Marama is announced to sail at 3 p.m. to-morrow. She is due at Sydney on Tuesday next. PIAKO LOADING. To fill up for New York. Boston and London, the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Piako arrived this morning from Napier, and berthed at the Prince's wharf. She is to sail for New York at daybreak on Saturday. RARANGA TO LOAD. At present en route from Liverpool to Australia, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Raranga has been fixed to load in New Zealand for New York and London, making Auckland her final port. She ia due here on June 7. (L. D. Nathan, Ltd.). THE MAUI POMARE. Spedding, Ltd., have received advice that the new Government motorshlp Maui Pomare cleared Balboa on April 20, after being delayed there for some days for repairs to her engines. She is bound for Wellington, via Apia, and is due early in May. MATAKANA'S ITINERARY. L. D. Nathan advise that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matakana is due at Auckland from Liverpool on May 7. Her other ports of discharge are Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, whence she is to return to Auckland on May 28 to load for London and West of England ports. PORT AUCKLAND AT WELLINGTON. An arrival at Wellington this morning was the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Auckland, with general cargo from London. From Wellington she she is to go to Lyttelton, Timaru and New Plymouth to complete discharge. At New Plymouth she will commence loading for London, coming to Auckland via Opua on May 24. Hence she is to go to Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne and Wellington, to fill up, sailing finally from the latter port on June 7. The Farmers' Auctioneering Co. are the agents for Opua and Auckland. The Kurow leaves Wellington at 5 p.m. to-day for Auckland. The Waipiata leaves Dunedin at noon today for Auckland, via Oamaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Wingatul left Timaru at 9 p.m. on Tuesday last for Auckland, via Lyttelton. Picton and Wellington. She arrived at Lyttelton at 9 a.m. yesterday, and ia to leave there at 8 p.m. to-day. The Kamona loads at Greymouth to-day for Auckland. The Kaitangata loads at Greymouth today for Auckland, via New Plymouth. The Kanna returned yesterday morning from Portland and berthed at the Prince's wharf to continue loading for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is to sail at 11 o'clock to-night. The Kartigi left Westport at 1 a.m. yesterday for Auckland. VOCO WITH OIL. An arrival at Auckland yesterday morning was the Vacuum Oil Co.'s tanker Voco (Capt. W. E. Robertson) with 3,800,000 gallons of motor spirit. The local portion is being pumped into the company's tanks on Western Reclamation, and the vessel sails at 7 a.m. to-morrow for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. This is the Voco's second voyage, her maiden voyage having been made to Australia. Built by Lithgows at Glasgow, she is similar in type to the Plume and pulpit Point, which have already visited Auckland. All three vessels were specially constructed for the Australian and New Zealand trade. On her official trials, the Voco attained a mean speed of 12 knots. She made the voyage from San Pedro to Auckland in 21 days, at an average speed of 11.3 knots. The crew numbers 42 all told, nine Europeans and 33 Chinese. PORT or ONEHUNGA. ARRIVALS—TUESDAY.
