Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report:— To-day at our weekly WestfieH fat i Stock market fat cattle were penned to 1 the number of 23- head, comprising 86 1 steers, 147 cows and heifers, as compared with 403 at last week's market. There i was an improved demand, and generally values were firmer. Extra choice ox sold to 36/ per 1001b, choice and prime ox 33/ to 35/, ordinary and plain ox 30/ to 32/, prime young cow and heifer beef 26/ to 26/, ordinary ' ccw beef 21/ to 25/, heavy prime steere £13 10/ to £14 7/6, lighter prime steers £12 to £13 7/6, light prime steers £10 i 10/ to £11 17/6, unfinished and small £8 10/ to £9 15/, extra heavy prime young i oowb and heifers £9 to* £10 5/, heavy prime young cows and heifers £7 10/ to £8 17/6, lighter £6 to £7 7/6, other cows i £3 10/ to £5 17/6.
