CAR CRASHES OVER BANK.
THREE OTHERS IK HOSPITAL
ACCIDENT ON WAY TO CABARET,

WANGANUI, this day.
Miss Mary Ball, a young woman, was killed on Saturday night while riding in a motor car to a cabaret.
The car, driven by Edward Wylie, plunged over a bank-on Christie's Hill, bioke through a fence and rolled over until it was stopped by a tree. The body of the car was smashed, and a rod of the hood passed through Miss Ball's chest.
Four of the five others in the car were all injured slightly. They are: Edward Wylie, abrasions and severed tendons of the forearm; Nelosn Meuli, abrasions and gashes to the face; Miss Lee Swan, injuries to the ankle; Miss R. Jackson, deep cut on the leg. Mr. Leo Udy was not injured. Miss Ball and three of the others were taken to hospital, but Miss Ball died soon after she was admitted.
It is surmised that the car skiddedd. or that its brakes "seized."
