BIG PROCESSION PLANNED.

To focus attention cm the International Euchaxistic conference, to be held at Sydney in September next, arrangements are in hand for the holding of a procession in the grounds of the Sacred "Heart College, Auckland, on the afternoon of Sunday, April 29. A gathering otf about 5000 people is expected. A meeting of the city and suburban Roman Catholic clergy and representatives -of the Marist Brothers has been held under the presidency of the Right Rev. Dr. Liston, Coadjutor-Bishop of Auckland. The bishop explained that it was the wish of the Hierarchy that such a procession should be held in preparation for the congress. After fully discussing the general plans a special committee was set up consisting of Very Rev. Monsignor Ormond, Archdeacon Holbook, Rev. W. J. O'Dohety, the Rev. Dr. Buxton and Bro. Benignus. Elaborate preparations have been made, and the arrangements for the procession are as follow^— *
The order of the procession is: Banner of the Sacred Heart, primary school girls, secondary school girls, primary school boys, secondary school boys, Band, Children of Mary, Guard of Honour, combined choirs of city and suburban churches, Holy Name Society, Hibernian Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Big Brothers, Religious, Cross, altar boys of city and suburban churches, flower girls, clergy, Thurifers, canopy and laity.
The rallying points will be: Primary school girls from the third standard upwards will meet at the Sacred Heart Girls' School in Vermont Street where they will don their veils; the secondary school girls will meet at the O'Neill Street hall; the primary school boys, at the Brothers' School in Vermont Street: the Children o<f Mary and Guard of Honour at O'Neill Street hall; the combined choirs on the handball bases at the College; the Holy Name Society, Hibernians, etc., at the lower end of Lincoln Street; the Religious, at the Vermont Street Girls' School; the altar boys at the Vermont Street Boys' School; th< Flower Girls (supplied by St. Mary's Convent) at the O'Neill Street hall.
The general public will be admitted to the College grounds through the Vermont Street gate only, and they will stand on the field in front of the College between the entrance and the ball courts. The procession will enter the Vprnj~Street gate at 2.30 and keep tot the path on the top of the bank until it turns to the right beyond the main building. Here the Blessed Sacrament will be carried from the College chapel, and the laity will fall in behind the canopv. After crossing the creek the procession will rise into the new cricket ground, where there will be erected an altar from which Benediction will be given. When the procession has returned to the college side of the creek, Benediction will asrain be "riven from the college balcony. The length of the route will be almost a mile.
The order of precedence adopted amon? the various groups will follow that of the parishes given in the Australasian Catholic Directory: St. Patride's, St. Benedict's. Pamell. Ponsonby. Grey Lynn. Remuera. Dominion Road. Fosom. OnrTninfra, Mount Albert, Avondale, Ellerslie. Otahuhu, Howiek, Devo"-~<m-1 and Takapuna.
Hymns appropriate to the occasion will be sung.
