SUDDEN FIT OF RAGE.

DELHI, April 20.
Mr. Da vies, district magistrate and collector at Chittagong, was fatally stabbed in his bungalow by a Mohammedan named Rahaman, to whom Da vies had refused to grant a passport and money to visit England.
Rahaman, in a sudden fit of rage, jumped on Davies and stabbed him to the heart. He died immediately. The man then rushed from the bungalow, chased by a servant, whom he attempted to stab. He was finally caught by clerks. He is a member of a prominent family in Chittagong.
The crime caused a sensation, as Davies was a popular official. He leaves a widow and two sons.
