COLONEL ALLEN LEAVES.
PASSENGER BY TOFUA.
The new Administrator of Samoa, Colonel S. Allen, left by the Tofua this morning to take up hi« new duties at the islands. He was accompaned by his wife and family. There was a large number of personal friends present to see Colonel Allen off, although there was nothing of an official nature. Amongst those present were Major G. E. Simeon, V.D., president of the Ex-Servicemen's Association, and the secretary of that organisation (Mr. L. Marshall). ■Colonel Allen waved bis hand when an interviewer approached him, and remarked with a smile, "Nothing whatever," an indication that he did not wish to make any statement in regard to his appointment. Last night Colonel Allen was farewelled at the Northern Club. There were also several farewell functions before he left his home at Morrinsville.
