Seismic Disturbances In
Peru.

VANCOUVER, April 18. Dispatches from Lima, state that earthquakes continue to occur. At Macusani, buildings which remained standing after the first shocks, have now collapsed.
Seismic disturbances of very great intensity are taking place in the districts of Ituata, Ayapata and Ollachea.
The town of Ituata is in ruins. Three people are dead and many others have been injured. The inhabitants are panicstricken. Taipe has also been destroyed and four persons have been killed at Ollachea.
Macusani is a small town which stands at an altitude of 14,185 ft in the Department of Puno, 150 miles from the town of Puno, in the extreme south-east of Peru. Ayapata is just north of Macusani. Ollachea lies further to the north-west.
