STAGE EMPLOYEES.
COURT ISSUES NEW AWARD.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Under the Dominion Stage Employees' Award, which has been filed, first machinists, touring, receive £7 11/6 a week, and first machinists, resident permanent, receive £6 2/6. First property men, touring, receive £7 7/6; resident permanent. £5 12/6; first electrician, touring, £7 7/6: wardrobe master, touring, £5 17/6; resident permanent, £4 12/6; wardrobe mistress, £5 17/6; stage-door keeper, resident permanent, £4 2/6; stage hands, resident permanent £4 7/6.
These are minimum salaries for the grades mentioned, and other grades and casual hands are also provided for.
The award provides for the payment of overtime for hours in excess of 48 weekly worked by touring employees, and specifies daily hours for other workers. Casual labour at rehearsals, definition of casual workers and general conditions are covered.
