The prevalence of easterly winds has interfered with deep-sea fishing off Cape Brett this month, but good sport has been obtained when the weather has been suitable. Latest catches are: E. J. Ussher (Wairarapa), s-wordfish of 3031b, niakos of 3021b, 1501b and 1631b, kingfwli of 451b; Mr. R. H. Amory (Devonshire, England), mako of 1601b; Mr. J. A. McDougall (Martinborough), makos of 2501b and 1801b; black marlin of 2301b; Mr. J. W. Kershaw (Martinborough), swordftsh of 4101b and 2161b; Mr. A. E. Dodd (Auckland), mako of 2061b.
