NEW TOURIST ROAD.

ROTORUA-WAIKAREMOAXA. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) 4 GISBORXE, Thursday. A permanent tourist route between Rotorua and Lake Waikaremoana, via Galatea, is to be constructed by the Public Works Department. It is an old project, but now seems more likely to be realised.

The surveyors have mapped out the route for 18 miles, and by next month work will have been started at of the lake at Opuaruahene, and at a point 18 miles through the bush. Probably a jetty will ultimately be built on the lake and cars will be shipped from it to the Lake House side by launch.
