TITULESCU FLEES ON HIS APPROACH. The daily talks which Dr. Gupt.iv Stresemann. the German Foreign Minister, and Nicholas Titulescu, the Rumanian Foreign Minister, have been enjoying in the quietude of sunny Cap Martin, were suddenly interrupted when M. Titulescu received word that Carol, the former Crown Prince of Rumania, was en route to Cannes to confer with them. j M. Titulescu fled immediately to San Remo, across the Italian border, with Mme. Titulescu and his 6uite and sscretaries, whither Carol will be unable tc follow without a special permit from th< Italian Government. Dr. Stresemann journeyed to Sar Remo and lunched with M. Titulescu the Miramar Palace Hotel, returning U Cannes late in the evening. Meanwhile, Carol had broken his pre vious silence with an announcement tha' he had come to Cannes because Dr Stresemann expressed a wish to consul with him. I When Dr. Stresemann was informe* I of this, he replied: I "That is not even worth denying, have never seen the young man and ! cannot say that I desire to make hi acquaintance." Questioned regarding a report that h had seen Carol before going to Sal j Remo, Dr. Stresemann replied: "The re I port is absolutely absurd."
