OUTCOME OF SUCCESSFUL FAIR

A deputation from the Birkenhead Borough liand, comprising M«**srs. G. Huddles tone, V. Queenin and I*. McGovern, attended the borough council meeting Last evening. It wtw stated thwt tihe takings nt tlhe fair in aid of the band instrument fund had been £100. After deducting expenditure incurred, there remained a balance of A cheque for this amount wus banded to the council in reduction of the debt of £172 on the set 01 silver instrument* puruhased three and a-half y«r* ago for £720. The Mayor (Mr. E. G. Skeute«), congratulated the band on the sacceme of the fair. They had done exceedingly well, and the s until Imlanoe of £52 remaining could !"• up within a •jhort period. Then the bandsmen «»uld start on their next objective, to provide new uniforms for the membem.
