ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.
THIS MORNING'S WORK
PRINCESS RONNIE GALLOPS WELL.
The weather was dull though fine for training work at Ellerslie this morning. Although rain fell overnight the tracks were in good order. No 1 grass track was open, while there was one gallop on the course proper. The Course Proper. Salamander was sent over a mile and completed the journey in 1.49 3-5. No. 1 Grass. Diamond Queen was the first to work, jumping off at the six furlong post and running home in 1.20 2-5.
Memsahib and Mashoor were companions over seven furlongs, which they covered in 1.35 1-5. Both went well.
Restaurant and Semicircle left half a mile behind in 53 l-ss.
Gold Money and King Emerald occupied 1.26 1-5 to run six furlongs, but they were not doing their best.
Winsome Boy was better than Euphano at the finish of a five furlong gallop in 1.0 3-5.
Ballymoy 11. worked freely over a round, which she traversed in 1.58 3-5.
Marita was timed to run five furlongs in 1.7 1-5.
Parfait Amour ran home from the five furlong post in 1.5 2-5. He appeared to go well.
The Fox started off slowly from the six furlong post and completed the journey in 1.24, the last five furlongs taking 1.9 4-5.
Idun took 1.10 2-5 to traverse five furlongs.
Newbury strode over six furlongs in 1.16 2-5.
Bulolo went vjry freely over six furlongs, which lie completed in 1.19 1-5.
Avon Court and Justify finished 011 terms at the end of five furlong- in 1.5 3-5. Jolly Money was going nicely beside Tea Money over a similar journey, which occupied 1.7 2-5.
Daylight was timed to run the last half mile of his work in 55 4-ss.
Blue Spear was a shade better than Pompeius at the end of five furlongs, which they covered in 1.7.
Archibald did strong work over a round,, completing the distance in 2.3 1-5.
There was little between Storm Fiend and Welkne at the fnish of six furlongs run in 1.18 2-5.
Taneriri and Fungus were together at the end of three furlongs in 38 l-ss.
Nola Night and Kauri Park were about on 1 rms at the end of six furlongs run in 1.22 2-5.
Mon Star gave Kamehamelm several lengths start from the half-mile post,
nd was almost on terms when the post was reached. The time was 54 4-os, Mon Star doing better than .hat.
Hone Heke and Royal Trek ran the last half-mile of their work in 55 2-ss. They did their task nicely.
Archeno sprinted half a r iie in 52 2-ss, while Whakarite was going easily, while running a similar distance in 58s.
Master Doon did strong work over seven f\. "longs.
Harbour View sprinted half a mile in 50 3-ss, a distance which Good Boy accomplished in 565.
Sy'vanun ran he 2 from the five-fur-long post in 1.8 3-5.
Princess Ronnie stered another brilliant gallop over a round, which she completed in 1.51 3-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.17 4-5. This was ah excellent performance.
Master Clements was going better than Marble Mount over four furlongs in 55 4-ss.
The Jumpers.
Mountain Guide (L. Dulieu) schooled satisfactorily over the pony hurdles, and subsequently did strong work on the grass. Sea Comet (Has< : x - display over the steeplechase fences on the flatSimplicii , >v). Gler. ts (~.ae) and Clockwork (Hastings) finished in that order in a school over the fences on the flat. They negotiated the sod wall, double, and stonewall, where Glenotus pulled off on to the tan, the other two going on over the brush. Simplicitus ga-e a really good exhibition and Glenotus also fenced well, while Clockwork, except that he ran about a bit at his jumps, also r--" ' -^Iv.
