CORNER FOR BUSY BEES.

MAKING BABY HAPPY. A LOVELY WOOLLY BALL. (Conducted by TINKER BELL.) My Dear Girls,— Now wouldn't it be lovely if yoa could make something for baby to play with. Something that would look ever *° pretty in the pram when you go out. Well, I do not think anything looks prettier than a big fluffy ball, and you look most terribly clever when you say you have made them, but they are ever so easy, when you know how—like everything else you will say—but this is something really simple. You can make them in pink or blue—pink for * hoy isn't it, ami blue for a girl, or is 't the opposite, dear me, we will have to consult the Witch Doctor, he knows everything. Anyhow, any old colour wOi do, or mixed. It does not really matter.

Well, first cot two round cardboard discs, just at large as yon require. If you want a very bi* ball, then make

very big discs, only, of course, the larger the disc the more wool yon will require. Both cardboard discs most be exactly alike. Now take a nice thick needle and thread it with double wool, And pass it through and through until the centre is quite full and you are unable to pass the needle any moreNow, take some sharp scissors and cut round the outer edge of the cardboard discs, cutting through all the stitches you have made, only be very careful before moving the cardboard to see that they have been tied very tightly in the centre, otherwise all the pieces when cut will come toppling down, making a fearful mess, and then good-bye to the fluffy ball, so be exceptionally careful of this. Now, isn't that easy, and if you like you can add a line of chain stitch to hang it up by, and, being light, the wind wOl blow it to and fro when tied over baby's head, so that he can lie and watch it. Try this, and you will have the duckiest fluffy round ball for baby, and made by you in just a few minutes.
