REMITS AT CONFERENCE. (By Telegraph—Presa Association.) WANG AN LI, this da v. At to-day 8 session of the conference of master painters remits were carried ae follow:— "That an effort be made to hare steel sashes standardised to suit the regular stock sizes of glass; that the question of the insurance of employees and apprentices be taken up by the New Zealand Federation with a view to obtaining a reduction in the rates charged; that all affiliated unions undertake to take action through their respective apprenticeship committees. anJ if necessary before the Arbitration Court, to secure a reduction in the scale of wages payable to apprentices to the standard rates adopted by the Court; that the conference urge all affiliated unions and allied employers' organisations to make representations prior to the nest sesj-nm of Parliament, both directly through their local members of Parliament and to the Minister of Labour, pressing for" legislation to relieve employers from the present unfair position of to p.v apprentices full wages during the time such boys are absent at comj.ulsorv miliiarv training camps."'
