THE DEPARTMENT EXPLAINS
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, Wednesday
The Public Works Department has notified tho New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company that it is unlikely that the Department will be able to supply the company's Waitoa factory with current any longer, while it is unlikely that it can supply any of the company's other factories after Mar~h 31.
It is explained by tho Department that the company's factories, under special agreements, have been rold current at low rates after the requirements of other consumers, who do not possess
steam plants, 'have been met. The Department oncc Lad current to spare, but the demand has so grown that it can sell to ordinary consumers all the power that Horahora can producc.
