April 7, 11 —N.Z. Metropolitan T.C. April 7, 'J—Hawera Trottiug Club. April 14—Taranaki Trotting Club. April 21—Tc Aroha Trotting Club. April 21—AsUburton Trotting Club. May 3, o—Forbury Park Trotting Club. May r>—Cambridge Trotting Club. May 19—Oatnaru Trotting Club. June 2, 4-—Canterbury I'ark T.C. June it—Ashburton Trotting Club. June 23, 27—Auckland Trotting Club. Acceptances 'for the first day's events of the Otahuhu Trotting Club's summer meeting close at o p.m. to-morrow. Seeing that lie went 4.42 to boat all but Native Star in the unhoppled race on Cup day at Epsom, Tony Victor is not badly treated in Itebig n and'capped on 4.43 on Saturday week. Raima looks the pick of the unhoppled race at the Otahuhu meeting. The chestnut's for pi at Christmas was really good, and a repetition of that would just about win oil Saturday week.

Sahib, who is on the front of the mile saddle at the metropolitan meeting, is very brilliant out of the slips, but lie is not a pood stayer. However, he may manage to see the trip out on Saturday.

J. Shaw left for Christchurch last evening to drive .lewcl Pointer at Arhlington. The horse figures in both the big race and the mile and a-quarter sprint, but he will have to put up a brilliant performance to get the money.

Black Lila i« being ticked off in some quarters as the likely winner of the (jtahuhu t up. On paper she looks nicely treated on 4.30, but there arc others in the race who should beat her. Certainly she went better than 4.29 in the spring, but it is hardly likely the will ever repeat that performance.

Before going into G. Phlpps' stable Orattan Thorpe was not a solid pacer in a race, and more than once left his feet for apparently no reason. He has been doing some of his work in saddle, and it will be interesting to note whether he goes any better in a race now that Phipps has had him a few months.

Most straight-out trotters can go two miles, and Raim,a should be no exception. If the chestnut piarc can stay, then it is going to take a smart one to down her in the Mount Albert Handicap. At Christmas she won the Tatnaki Handicap, going 3.32 l-.1, which works out at 4.43 for two miles. Mr. Goosman has put her on 4.47 in a 4.48 class, so she looks to have a big chance.

With no less than 17 accepted for in the big race, the Midsummer Handicap, at Aduingtou on Saturday, there is everv prospect of a fine contest. St. Maura, oil 12yds, reads a likely sort, although she has not shown a liking to a two miles journey in the past.

lhose who saw Xing Pointer win twice at the Auckland meeting at Christmas will give the black pacer a great chance in the Papanui Handicap on Saturday. He is handicapped on 36yds, but this is not a big start to concede in two miles. King Pointer shaped like a horse who would not be long reaching the best company.

It recent workouts mean anything, then the speed test between Nati\e Chic! and Creal Bingen looks the be;t of good things for Native Chief. It is expected that the son of Native King will go round about two minutes for the mile, but that will only be if Great Bingen is good enough to make him do his best.

Dalmeny raced unsuccessfully at the Auckland meeting, but ho went well enough on the final day, after getting a bad run, to warrant being ticked oft as an early winner. He is engaged at the Otahuhu meeting, but is also booked to compete at Addington on Saturday, and no doubt it will depend upon his showing then whether 'lomkinson will bring him North.

On the final day of the Auckland Cup meeting Waikaha and Betty Moko were handicapped on the same mark. Waikaha did not run, and Betty Moko finished out of a place. At the Otahuhu meeting Waikaha is asked to give Mr. Brady's mare 12yds. As Waikaha has consistently beaten her, Mr. Goosman's handicapping of the pair seems to be the correct one.

hen Padlock won the Park Handicap on the final day of the summer meeting of the Auckland Club he started from 24yds iu a field of 1.1, and won by a couple of lengths in 3.21 2-5. This is a 2.47J gait for a mile and a-quarter. and as he is on the limit, 2A7\. in the Myers Handicap on Saturday week he is rather well treated. The same day Xelson Fame went 2.43 3-5 to win the Premier Handicap off a 2.43 mark, and he has now gone back to 2.4 U. Xelson Fame is therefore asked to go better than he did at Christmas, but Padlock is not.
