DOINGS AT TE AWAMUTU.
The crack hurdler, Frank Nisdale, is still suffering from ankle trouble, and as a result has only been able to do light training. He has received au invitation from the Wanganul Centre to appear at a meeting there next week in an endeavour to break the 440 yards hurdles record. Unless the injury improves -within the next couple of days Frank Trill not go to Wanganui, but will endeavour to be at his best for the Auckland meeting on the 25th inst. Steady progress is being made in the establishment of amateur athletics in the Te Awamutu district. The Te Kawa Club, which in past years has ran an entirely cash programme, has decided to include amateur events this year. Since the sports recently several youths have purchased racing machines, and are to be seen pedalling each evening on the Te Awamutu track.
