DENTIST TWICE A YEAR.
KAWHIA'S COMPLAINT.
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, this day.
It costs a resident of Kawhia at least £3 to come into Hamilton and have a tooth extracted. A dentist visits Ihe coastal town only once in six months, and if a tooth gives trouble in the meantime and has to be removed by a professional dentist, travelling, board and the dentist's fee cost at least £3.
At a meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board to-day Mrs. Sims gave some information about the position of Kawhia residents. She said they were anxious to get more frequent visits from a dentist, and were prepared to defray part of the cost i£ the board could see its way to provide a room and a chair and subsidise the scheme. No action was taken.
