WAIHI, this day.

As the result of the efforts of the Mayor of Waihi, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt, and the secretary of the Miners' Union to relieve unemployment in the Waihi district, the Public Works Department at Paeroa is making certain recommendations to the Ministers in the matter, and it is understood that work for a proportion of the urgent cases will shortly be forthcoming.
