MISSING CARGO.

WATERSIDE WORKER CHARGED. ALLEGED THEFTS FROM STEAMSHIP. A waterside worker named Edward James Euesden stood his trial at the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Reed and a jury, on charges of stealing dress fabrics and other goods valued at £25, the property of the Shaw Savill and Albion Shipping Company, Ltd. Accused, who was represented by Mr. J. J. Sullivan, pleaded not guilty. Mr. Meredith, Crown Prosecutor, said the goods were stolen from the hold of the steamship Pakeha when she was being unloaded at the Queen's wharf. The evidence would show that accused, when arrested, said "I intend pleading guilty to the charges."
