MINE MANAGERS' REPORT

Kurauu'i.—The manager reports that the. crosscut fro mthe surface has been advanced a further live feet, which makes ,1 total of 122 feet from the starting point. The drive on the leader in the footwall of the main reef has been extended a further three feet, making a total of 130 feet from the crosscut. There lias been no quartz broken from this face for the week. The country is interlaced with mineral seams and flin ties. Maoriland. —The mine manager reports that driving was commenced during the week on the lode at No. 4 level: a distance of five feet has been driven. The iode at present is two feet six inches wide, composed of a mixture of pug and quartz on rhe footwall portion, while the hangingwall portion is a compact body of clean quartz with a very nice class of favourable mineral and silica' veins distributed through it.

Occidental Una.—The manager reports that No. 1 reef in tiie north end still maintains its good appearance, and states he will be very surprised if a good lind of stone is not obtained here. The quartz broken continues to show strong dabs of gold. When breaking down No. 1 reef, south end, we secured 251b of specimen, as reported, and indications are very promising here. The dropper in south end still looks well, and at each breaking down dabs of gold can be seeu in the quartz.
