NO EXTREMISTS.
OBSTACLES TO PEACE Australia's Industrial Conference. BRUCE WANTS MEN OF VISION. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, February C. 11l the course of an address a I the Constitutional Club the Prime Minister, Mr. S. M. Bruce, referred to the proposed conference to bring about peace in industry. He said there were extremists in the organisations of the trade unionists and the employers who would react on one another at the conference and destroy its chance of success. He desired to keep these elements on both sides out of the conference, which he wanted to be between men of vision, understanding, and sympathy —men who had the confidence of their respective sections and more particularly of the whole community. Such a conference would abolish mistrust and suspicion on both §ides and would pave the way to a more amicable discussion between the delegates from the employers and the employees. He said be would call the conference not as a party leader, but as Prime Minister.
