BOXING.
NEW ZEALANDER ABROAD. NELSON McKXIGIIT IN U.S.A. Tlio Hamilton welterweight boxer, Nelson McK night, appears to be making a good impression in his appearances ia the coursc of a visit to U.S.A. He has been boxing main events, and after losing on points to Madison Dix at Seattle he knocked out Prank Tavlor in four rounds, knocked out Battling Moody, and drew with Benny Nelson and I'rankie Ix;wis at Vancouver. When the last mail left he was staged to meet •Jimmy Kyan, ex-Navy middleweight champion. He was also at that time matched with .lint Vargus, known as the h res no assassin,' and recognised as the best welterweight in California. In the States they like McKnight's rugged st \ le, and he says he has improved under American training methods. He does not intend, however, to remain mj America, and expects to come back hom» after a six months' stay in the States.
