RIFLE SHOOTING.
AKARANA CLUB. Members of the abore club on Saturday competed for trophic presented by Mr. 11. Brown. Mr. A G. Devore. and Mr. J. F. Atklneon. orer the ranjres of 500 and 600 yards. Shooting conditions were far from bein? ideal, a nasty rear fishtail wind putting the marksmen all over the target. The top three men in each section take 8, 2, and 1 points. Silver spoons were won hv Mr A. W. Dixon and Stan. Elliott. T. Elliott jun. won Mr. A. O. Devore's trophy with 7 points. Details are as follow:— A Section (Mr. H. F. Brewer's 'fropliyO.—A. H.
