En route from Antwerp to Auckland, the Federal steamer Devon is reported to have cleared Newport News on Thursday laat. She is due here about February 22. v CAMBRIDGE SAILED. To continue discharge of her general cargo from Liverpool, the Federal steamer Cambridge sailed on Saturday afternoon for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. HERTFORD TOMORROW. To continue loading for London, the Federal steamer Hertford left New Plymouth for Auckland at 5.30 p.m. yesterday, and is due here-at 7 a.m. to-morrow. From here she is to go to Gisborne, Napier, Timaru. Lyttelton and Wellington, whence she is to sail finally on March 3. THE TORT MELBOURNE. For further Homeward loading, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Porr Melbourne is to leave Gisborne tomorrow evening for Auckland. She is due here on Thursday morning, and is lo sail again on Saturday night for New Plymouth, Wellington and Lyttelton. She is to be dispatched finally from the latter port on February 23 for London. THE TOFUA. Continuing her voyage from Auckland, thea Union steamer Tofua is reported to have left Suva Tor Tonga on Saturday. She is to return to Auckland on Februarv 20. CITY OF BATH TO SAIL. In continuation of her voyage from York, the steamer City of Bath is to leave Auckland at daybreak to-morrow for Wellington, Dunedin and Australian ports. NORTHUMBERLAND FOR NAPIER. To complete her cargo for London. Avonmoutb, and Liverpool, the Federal steamer Northumberland left Auckland on Saturday afternoon for Napier and Wellington. She is to sail finallv from the latter port on February 11. H.M.S. DUNEDIN. To prepare for a month's cruise to Southern ports. H.M.s. Dunedin returned to Auckland from Whangaroa on Saturday evening, and berthed at Devonport. She is to sail on February 16. THE NIAGARA. Cahled advice from Vancouver confirms the arrival there on Friday of the Union Co.'s K.M.s. Niagara front Sydnrv pnd Auckland. She leaves tliere again on Wednesday next, and is due here on February 27. KAIRANGA WITH WHEAT. With a full cargo of wheat from Melbourne. the Union Co.'s steamer Kalranga arrived at Auckland yesterday and berthed at the Queen's wharf. She experienced tine weather throughout the voyage. She is 10 sail again on Wednesday for Newcastle to load for Wellington. • HALERIC SAILS TO MORROW. . The steamer Ilaleric. v.hich has been discharging raw sugar from Java at Chelsea is to sail early to-morrow morning for Westport to bunker. From Wcstport she is to go to Makatea to load phosphate for Newcastle or Auckland. TORT ADELAIDE COMING. A further wireless report from the A.A.O. Line steamer Dewey states that she will not now arrive at the pilot ground until S o'clock this evening. She is to berih to-morrow morning at the Central whmf to discharge the local portion or" her cargo of lumber, case oil and general merchandise from Pacific Coast ports. From here she is to go to Wellington. Timaru. an 1 Dunedin. Henderson and Macfarlane. Ltd.. are the local agents. CANADIAN CHALLENGER REPORTS. Several days later than previously expected, the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Challenger expects to arrive at Auckland from Halifax on Wednesday next, according to her wireless report. From here she is to go to Wellington. Bluff. Dunedin. Timaru and Lyttelton. to complete discharge and commence loading for the return voyage. She is to return to Auckland via Wellington to till up on March 3. and is to sail the following day for New York, Boston and Halifax. NEW S.S. AND A. SHIPS. Specially designed for service between New Zealand and the United Kingdom, the new Shaw. Savill and Albion motor ship Taranaki was launched from the yards of the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co. at Govan on December 10. She is a twin-screw vessel of 11.190 tons deadweight. Her dimensions are: Length 300 ft. breadth64ft. depth to upper deck 42ft 10$ in. The refrigerating machinery, by J. and E. Hall. Limited, Dartford, is situated on the upper and second decks, and consists of two duplex electrically driven refrigerating machines. No. 6 hold and 'tween decks provide capacity for carrying general cargo Four, two or three-berth staterooms are situated in a saloon house at the forwird end of the bridge deck. The propelling machinery consists o ftwin sets of FairfieldSulzer engines, each having six < vlinders 31in in diameter by 43in stroke.
