TOLD BY READERS.

This time I noticed a great increase in the number of stories submitted. As I expected, the standard showed much improvement as regards both subject natter and style. Sheila Quin, one of our most consistent contributors, carries off the fire shilling prise. Seven stories are highly oommqpded. These are by Dawn Collier, Edendale, age 13; Esther Perkins, Kaitaia, age 14; Lillie Harrison, Heme Bay, age 12| Jessie Milne, Birkenhead, age 14; Audrey Day, Mount Eden, age 12; and Nessie Harrison, Heme Bay, age 14.
