EXPRESS TRAINS.
NEARLY HALF UP TO TIME,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, Friday,
Figures supplied by the Railway Department show that nearly one-half of the expresses and mail trains in the last recorded year kept to schedule, and the average of lateness of all that ran late was six minutes. This record is thought very creditable, considering the hilly nature of New Zealand and the liability of the railways to slips and washouts and other disturbing factors.
