THE OTAHUHU MEETING.

PERMISSION TO BROADCAST.

At a meeting of members of the New Zealand Trotting Conference at Wellington recently, it was decided not to allow future trotting meetings to be broadcasted unless a payment was made bv the Radio Company, and it was further decided to communicate with the Conference requesting that racing club 6 adopt a similar course. It was pointed out that those clubs whose meetings had been put on the air were not desirous of making any money for themselves, but that some payment should be made by the Radio Company, the money to go towards assisting the country clubs.

Despite this decision the Otahnhn Trotting Club has granted permission to broadcast the approaching meeting which opens on Saturday week. It is understood that prior to the decision of the conference in Wellington the Otahuhu Club had given a promise to allow the summer meeting to be put on the air, and it is in keeping with this pro* mise that a description of the racing will be broadcast.
