Bank of New Zealand shares had several sales at 59 . and buyers then offered threepence under that figure, while more shaies were offered at the price sales had been made .it. Bank of New South Wales shares are now offered at £47 17/6, as against sales at £4S a week ago. Buyers now offer £47 10,'. Bank of Australasia shaies had transactions at £14 10/. and English and Scottish Bank shares were placed at £7 14.', at which rate there is still a demand. National Bank of New Zealand shares advanced 1/ in the buying offers this week, being now wanted at i' 6IS 0. Ltd., shares were offered yesterday at £13 17/6, and that brought in a buyer at £13 2/6. N.Z. Refrigerating shares are «till wanted at £4. and N.Z. and River Plate at 27/6. Coal shares continue to be popular with investors. Hikurangi preference issue 6old this week at 8/, and Pukemiros are wanted at 63/. Taupiri eoal are in steady request at 25 3, and Waipa Collieries are wanted at 16/6. Sales were made of Auckland Gas at 23/3, and 23/2. Buyers came in for Gisborne Gas at 8/6, and Thames Gas at If.

A sale was made of Devonport Ferry at 24/, and for Huddart Parker Steam there has been steady inquiry at 50/. The preference issue of Huddart Parker could be placed at 20/6. Northern Steam shares are offered at 14/3, but buyers offer 3d under that rate. Northern Steam contributing issue had sales at 7/. Timber 6hares were without inquiry this week. Colonial Sugar Refining Co. shares had a good rise thi6 week, sales being made up to £55 10/. British Tobacco shares changed hands at 39/7%, and for Burns Philp. Ltd., 40/6 was offered yesterday afternoon. Buyers came in again for Kempthorne Prosser Drug at 68/6, but the seller wanted another 1/. Victoria Nyanza Sugar shares were quoted this week, buyers offering 54/. Wilsons Cement chares had business at 38/, and buyers uow offer 6d under that figure. Brewery shares had no inquiry this week, with the exception that the debenture stock sold at 22/7. Mining shares are still neglected. Buyers offer 1/ for Occidental Una shares, since the 251b of specimens were secured. Alburnia shares sold at 1/5 yesterday afternoon, and early in the week 1/4 was paid for shares in the Lucky Shot Co. Ohineduri Mines 6old and are s i'.l offered at 7/6.

War Loans had steady inquiry this week. £96 15/ and £96 17/6 being offered for the 4% per cent free of income tax. Soldiers' Loan, inscribed issue, sold at £101 and £101 2/6. Auckland Harbour Board 6 per cent debentures are wanted at £103 10/, and for Mount Eden Borough 6 per cent, £103 was offered at the third call yesterday. Auckland City 5% per cent debentures could be got for £98, but buyers offer £96.
