UNION CO.'S STEAMERS. The Waimea sailed last evening for Gisborne and Napier. The Kurow left Lyttelton at 5 p.m. yesterday for Wellington and Auckland. After discharge here she Is to go to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. "The Waiotapu sails on Friday for Wellingon. Melbourne, and Sydney to complete discharge. The Kntoa loads at Westport to-day. completing at Picton on Friday, for Auckland. The Kamo loads at Greymouth to-day for Tauranga and Auckland. The Kamona sails at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Wellington and Greymouth. The Kaihiua i to dock on Friday for cleaning and painting.

The Coronation sailed yesterday afternoon for Awanui. . . The Tiroa sailed last evening for GisThe Richardson steamer Awahou sailed last evening for East Coast ports. The cable steamer Iris is to dock on February 7 for cleaning and painting.

The Federal steamer Cambridge, which arrived yesterday morning from Liverpool, is to sail at noon on Saturday for Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. RONA AT SYDNEY. From Auckland, the Colonial Sugar Refining Co.'s steamer Rona is reported to have arrived at Sydney this morning. From Sydney she is to go to Fiji to load another cargo of sugar for Auckland. CANADIAN PROSPECTOR. Par final loading for New York. Boston and Halifax, the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Prospector., is expected to arrive to-morrow morning from the south, berthing at the King's wharf. She is to be dispatched for America on Friday. MIDDLESEX TO BERTH. The Federal steamer Middlesex was to come up to port frora the powder anchorage early this afternoon, berthing at the Prince's wharf. The Middlesex has general cargo from Liverpool for Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth and Wanganui. THE HALERIC. Spedding, Ltd.. advise that the steamer Haleric is now expected to complete discharge of her sugar cargo on Monday. She is to sail on Tuesday morning for Westport to bunker before going to Makatea to load phosphate for Auckland or Newcastle. RIMUTAKA POSTPONED. Taking passengers, mails and cargo for Southampton and London, the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s steamer Rimutaka is now announced to sail at 6.30 a.m. on Friday. Passengers are to embark on Thursday evening. The vessel is at the Central wharf. INDIANOLA REPORTS. A wireless report from the steamer Indianola states rhat she expects to arrive from Casa Blnnea on February 8. She bat a full cargo of phosphate for discharge at Auckland and Lyttelton. Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd., are the local agents. ULIMAKOA AT SYDNEY. Cabled advice from Sydney confirms the arrival there yesterday morning of the Hud-dart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa, with passengers, mails and cargo from Auckland. She is to leave Sydney for Wellington on Friday morning. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The Marine Department advises that on or about February 18, the period of the flashing white light exhibited from the beacon (perch) on the reef on the northern side of the French Pass will be altered from every three seconds to one and a-half seconds, thus: Flash, J-second ; eclipse, one second. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. The following vessels are expected to be within range of the Auckland wireless station to-nightTofua. Matatua, City of Bath, Waihemo, City of Delhart, Dewev, Aorangi, Kairanga, H-M.s. Diomede. Glenbank. W&Jpahi, Hinemoa, Indianola, Northumberland, Canadian Prospector, Kaiapoi. CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. With cargo from Newcastle and Melbourne. the Union Co.'s steamer Kaiwarra is expected to reach Auckland at 5 p.m. to-day. according to her wireless report. After discharge she is to return to Newcastle to load another cargo for this port. NORTHUMBERLAND TO-MORROW. To continue loading for London and West of England ports, the Federal steamer Northumberland is expected to arrive tomorrow morning from New Plymouth. She is to berth at the Queen's wharf. From here she is to go to Napier and Wellington, whence she is to be dispatched finally on February 11. MOTOR SHIPS FOR AUSTRALIA. It is understood that the Compagnie des Messageries Maritimes intends, within the next four years, to replace all the passenger steamers now trading between Dunkirk, Lc Havre, Marseilles, and" Australian ports with motor ships. A passenger motr ship which will be named the Erirtan, is at present being constructed at La Ciotat, near Marseilles, for the Australian service The vessel will enter the traJe in April! 1929. The Eridan will be approximated 440 feet in length, with a breadth of 62 feet and a depth of 39 feet. She will be i of 7000 tons deadweight, and will have a displacement of 14,000 tons. Equipped with Sulzer engines, she will be capable of travelling at a speed of 16 knots. Accommodation will be provided for 60 saloon class passengers, 86 second-class passengers. and 438 immigrants. Facilities for cargo will be specially designed for Australian requirements.
