CLOTHES COST ONLY £140
NEW YORK, January 27.
The biggest estate ever appraised here for probate purposes showed that Mrs. Anna Harkness was worth £22,000,000 when she died in 1926.
She was a widow, and was one of John D. Rockefeller's earliest partners. She gave away £7,000,000 before she died, and despite her tremendous wealth, lived very simply. Her entire wardrobe was worth only £140.
