NEGLIGENCE ALLEGED.

MOTORIST SENT FOR TRIAL.

WELLINGTON, Monday.

Albert Goodman, horse trainer, was committed for trial to-day on a charge of having driven a motor car in a negligent and reckless manner on the main road at Upper Hutt, on September 17, thereby causing bodily injuries to Normstn Parata and Jack Alridge, who were riding a motor cycle.

Evidence given as to Goodman's sobriety was unreservedly accepted by the magistrate, who said the police case in that respect had failed. The question whether Goodman was or was not guilty of negligence in trying to pass a car in front of him, thus causing the collision, was one for a jury to decide.
