RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.

THIS MORNING'S GALLOPS. PREPARING FOR DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.**) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The weather was fine for training operations this morning, but a strong breeze brought up a lot of dust. All the wort was done on the plough, and there were some interesting gallops registered by horses with engagements at the Dunedin meeting next week. Agrion beat Lucinda over five furlongs In 1.5. Agrion appears to be quite sound, and he should be at his best for qptumn engagements, the first of which may be the North Island Challenge Stakes. Goblin Market, looking well after his racing at Trentham, was given steady pacing. Rigmarole' ran five furlongs in 1.4 2-5, Shallmar following over the same ground in 1.5, but neither was unduly hurried. Front Rank galloped about a mile, taking I.IS 2-5 for the last six furlongs. Rapier covered six furlongs, but was never going better than three-quarter pace. Silver Coot sprinted five furlongs in 1.4 1-5. and did it well. Full Feather gave Impertinence a start of two lengths, and finished alongside her. after running half a xnile in 49 l-5s —a smart gallop. Sudden Storm went exceptionally well while sprinting half a mile in 495. Sky Quest and Quarterdeck were companions in a five furlongs spin, run in 1.3, with the former going the better. Assurance and Star Flight covered seven furlongs in 1.31, finishing on- terms. Martarma beat Kenmore over half a mile, in 51s. Martarma is in nice order to start on serious work for his autumn engagements. Limerick gave Stormy a start of three lengths, and finished alongside him at the end of six furlongs. Limerick's time was 1.14 4-5, and he seemed to be going comfortably at the finish. Stormy took 1.15, and his effort was quite a good one, especially as he is not a great track worker. Satrap and Luminant were associated over seven furlongs, which they ran in 1.31. Satrap was going well all the way. Luminant also hit out in good style, and she is an improving filly. First Sight was better than Zaragoza In a . spin over seven furlongs, which occupied 1.31 2-5. , Footfall was given useful pace work 1 finishing up with a short sprint. Money Order did three-quarter pace work. He looks in good fettle after his Trrntham trip. Margaret Birney and Rina Mangu were companions over six furlongs, taking 1.6 for the last five. Nincompoop and Tarleton were given steady work over two circuits. Thorndale went twice round at a sound pace. He is in capital order, and he will have his next race in the Dunedin Cup.
