GREENHITHE NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

I Quite a number of New Year dances were held on New Year's Eve. All the halls were packed to overflowing with merry-makers in the Upper Harbour district. At Greenhithe a very enjoyable evening was spent, many visitors from other parts _ being present, and all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Amongst the New Year visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Moody from town, and Messrs. L. and F. Akersten, Miss Ivy Akersten, Miss D. Leggo, and Messrs. M. Ainsworth, O. Smith and W. Diamond. Many picnic parties and campers were having a good time on Pine Island, and the, waterfront looked a scene of gaiety with boats of every description and size sailing about.
