INDOOR BOWLING.
FRIENDLY SOCIETIES' PAIRS.
I The pairs tourney held under the auspices of the Friendly Societies' Indoor Bowling Association concludcd on Thursday evening, when the three section winners, Mrs. Ward and G. Searle (L.0.L.), R. Adam and E. Harkin (Birkenhead A.0.F.), J. Connor and A. Osborne (Birkenhead A.0.F.), played off. Harkin s team secured the honours. The leading of Sirs. Ward of the L.O.L. team was a feature of the tourney and set a very high standard. Thirty-five teams, embracing members of the A.0.F., 1.0. R.! 1.0.0. F. N.Z. and L.0.L., took part in the section play in the Orange Hall on November 5 and 12. The only section tie to be played off was between H. McKoy and A. Jenkin (Hope of Auckland Rechabites), and Mrs. Ward and G. Searte (L.0.L.), the latter winning. During the evening the vice-president and two other members of the Auckland Bowling Centre executive paid a visit and were loud in their praises of the indoor game. The officials in charge of the tourney were Bros. W. H. Drew, president; F. Harris, vice-president; and' G. F. Day, secretary. Results of the finals were as follows* Harkin 7, v. Searle 6; Osborne 6, v. Searle 5; Harkin 13, v. Osborne 10.
